Intensely concentrated aromas of black plum, pomegranate and orange peel. This is a full-throttle Musar, with power and vigour. There’s a plethora of red and black summer berries and cherries filling the vibrant palate. Racy acidity tingles the taste buds. Maraschino, mocha and a lick of spice linger on the long finish. It’s tempting to enjoy the 2012 Musar right now for its youthful exuberance but my advice would be to stick it away for a decade or so in the cellar and wait for all those lovely secondary and tertiary aromatics and flavours to come into play.
