Description

VITIC CULTURE & VINIFICATION
This Riesling was planted in 2004 in the remote Kfour El Arabi vineyard at an altitude of 1,500 m – the first Riesling planting in Lebanon. At the time, cultivating this grape variety at such an altitude was considered daring, but the exceptional conditions of the site proved ideal.

The Orthic-Entisol soils – sedimentary violet and yellow rock with components of clay, silt, sand, and limestone – combined with the extreme altitude and slow ripening, produce grapes of remarkable freshness and balance. The vineyards are cultivated using dry methods and harvested by hand. The result is wines with natural acidity and precise aromatics, rarely found in the region.

After a six-hour cold maceration, the grapes are gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks to preserve purity and fruitiness. Malolactic fermentation is deliberately omitted to maintain the vibrant acidity and clear expression of the terroir. The wine matures on its fine lees in stainless steel tanks, is then filtered, and bottled without oak aging to highlight its varietal character.

TASTE PROFILE
Pale straw yellow with greenish reflections. The nose reveals aromas of lime, green apple, and white peach, complemented by jasmine, delicate citrus blossoms, and a fine, stony minerality.

On the palate, the wine is racy and precise, with a captivating interplay between ripe stone fruit and vibrant, electrifying acidity. The finish is long, minerally pronounced, and crystal clear.

Style: A groundbreaking Lebanese Riesling from high-altitude vineyards – pure, precise, and with great aging potential. Gold medal winner in Germany and impressive proof of its top international quality.
